  1. You should try the Prime Beer, brewed in Vancouver its 100 calories, 5% alcohol, I believe they have an IPA and a Lager it’s very tasty and healthier.

    1. That is a great beer! Brewed over at Bridge Brewing in North Vancouver. We need to add that one to the list.

  2. I’m exploring some of Canada’s new NA beers. There are some very viable options from Village Brewing in Calgary (stout is great, pale ale very good) and ale BockAle in Quebec. I find if I’m on a long zoom hangout or watching a hockey game, I can start with an NA beer and then have one big IPA or whatever and keep the aggregate total to 1 beer.

    1. We love the alcohol-free beer option! We should add some of those to our list here, thanks for the suggestion. It’s always nice to be able to enjoy a few beers minus the hangover and other added health risks. One of my personal favourites is Red Racer’s Street Legal pilsner (made in BC).

    1. Hi Gil! They do actually promote their beer as having no preservatives. The company removed preservatives from their beer back in ’93.

  4. We’re going on a trip this summer to Canada, and as much as we love local pubs, one of our recent obsessions is finding the healthiest beer brand in the places we visit. Thanks for this!

    1. We have some amazing beer here in Canada. There are so many delicious local craft brands for every taste. This list could be MUCH longer, but we try to keep our articles succinct and easy to read. Enjoy your trip!

    2. Molson, for example, tastes awful, really awful.
“Tastes like piss” is an understatement. Maybe they could use a preservative or two.

Don’t waste your money. Sleeman is tops.
Try Canadian Superstore / Loblaws house brand too. No alcohol …. tastes like the real thing. Feel free to enjoy a dozen or so at the beach.
