  1. I used to run. Alternated walking and running in a 12-minute cycle. Got so I could go 12 minutes without walking. Winter came and that was that. I couldn’t stand the cold. Shift work didn’t help, either.
Decades and a hundred pounds later, My feet, ankles, and knees simply won’t take the pounding. I do try and walk when I’m feeling up to it, which unfortunately isn’t often.

    1. I am not a fan of being outside in the cold either, so I totally get it! Running certainly can be tough on the knees when you’re body isn’t ready for it. Just try to get in a walk whenever you can and please don’t be hard on yourself! Every little bit makes a difference. Start with a 5-minute walk once a day and then work your way up from there. It is easier to meet goals that we set for ourselves when we start with small and achievable ones. Good luck!
