Manny Malhotra is the head coach for the Abbotsford Canucks, the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks.
He was drafted 7th overall by the New York Rangers in 1998. Over an accomplished 17-year career with seven different NHL teams in Canada and the US, Manny defined his game as a two-way forward, a faceoff specialist and team leader.
Manny’s coaching career began with the Vancouver Canucks as Player Development Coach. In 2020 he was hired by the Toronto Maple Leafs as Assistant Coach, where he spent four seasons before returning to Vancouver. Highly respected for his leadership and on-ice credentials, Manny is proud to be the second player of South Asian descent to play in the NHL.
Manny is a husband and devoted father of four children. Both his family and career as an athlete have provided him with a strong appreciation for the important role of physical and mental health.
