  1. A couple other ideas: Use a calorie counter app for a week or two to get a real handle on what your calorie needs for a day actually look like. Just like money budgeting it is a great idea to track everything so you can realize just how much you are spending on entertainment. Also, just don’t do seconds. Fill your plate once and then if you are still hungry go make yourself a tea. By the time you’ve made it and consumed it you probably won’t be hungry still. When at a restaurant get a to-go box with your meal and portion out your leftovers before you begin.

  2. My unbreakable rule: only one plate per course. Never seconds. Never pile up the plate. And no refined sugars if possible.
