50% of Canadians plan to eat at home to save more in 2024
Canadian Men’s Health Foundation publishes new edition of A Guy’s Guide to Eating Healthy
Vancouver, BC, Apr 11, 2024 – The Canadian Men’s Health Foundation (CMHF) has launched the 2024 edition of A Guy’s Guide To Eating Healthy–a free online resource with simple dietitian tips, food facts and delicious recipes to help men and their families eat healthier, starting at home.
According to a recent survey, more than 50% of Canadians are planning to dine out less, or not at all this year in response to higher food prices. The new guide supports this trend with simple time and cost-saving tips, while emphasizing the long-term benefits of healthy eating.
“Healthy eating habits help men reduce the risk of serious health conditions like heart disease, type 2 diabetes and 14 types of cancer,” says TC Carling, CMHF President & CEO. “But prioritizing healthy eating can often prove challenging. A Guy’s Guide To Eating Healthy addresses this by encouraging simple changes, meal ideas, and resources for men to improve their health now and long term.”
Featured in the new guide is a plant-based protein recipe from CMHF Champion and renowned Canadian Chef, Ned Bell, and a 7-day Mediterranean meal plan from Diabetes Canada.
A nutrition-themed episode of the Don’t Change Much Podcast airs alongside the guide with CMHF Champion & award-winning Comedian Toby Hargrave, TELUS Health Registered Dietitian Caitlin Boudreau and Guest Host Buzz Bishop. They break down what to expect when consulting a dietitian, bust common food myths, and share tips to eat healthier while balancing a busy work and home life.
