Vancouver, BC, Oct. 4, 2022 – Veteran TV and radio broadcaster Jody Vance has joined the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation (CMHF) as a National Champion, lending her voice and platform to support awareness efforts across the country.

Recognized for her decades of work in TV and radio, Jody became a men’s health advocate after supporting her father through stage 4 prostate cancer, and later Alzheimer’s.

“I look at the roster of CMHF Champions, and I’m absolutely honoured to be invited to be a part of this conversation,” said Vance. “I see the men in my life struggle with asking for help, checking themselves and putting their health at the top of the priority list. There are lessons to be learned at the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation that I believe can save lives, and could have helped my immediate family.”

Jody shares more about her father’s story and his important messages for other men in the next Don’t Change Much Podcast episode: A Father’s Health Journey, airing October 11. Each month CMHF’s Don’t Change Much Podcast features meaningful, relatable men’s health conversations with Canadian athletes, musicians, experts and industry leaders like Trevor Linden, Dallas Smith, John Herdman and Riaz Meghji.

“Our goal is to get more resources to more Canadian men, which is something Jody has been actively working at for years,” said TC Carling, CMHF President & CEO. “We are grateful for Jody’s ongoing support and are proud to welcome her as a National Champion. Her father’s story includes important reminders for all of us, especially on the role family can play in prioritizing our health.”
